9 ways to feel alive!!!
I hear on so many different web sites “How do you feel like your living? How do you feel alive? So it got me thinking even when I checked my www.43things.com site I had that in my things to do “Feel alive” we all live but why don’t we feel like we are a live some times. Do we get all caught up in the daily actions to cater to our own needs? I know it can be redundant. So what do you do to “Feel Alive”? Here are a few of my suggestions.

1. Set goals that are close to your morals, values, and heart.
Goals are great – they keep you on track! Only if they mean something to you and they are close to you. Then understanding that your goals you have to WORK for they are not going to be giving to you on a silver platter just because you picked that as your goal. Grant you, you may meet some people to help you along your journey! If you never get that goal all that work you put into will make you feel ALIVE!

2. Educated risks
When we get stuck in our daily lives we tend to do the same thing over and over giving us that feeling of geesh just another day! One way to stop that is to do a bit of research and take a risk. Weather it be jumping off a bridge (that you know is save to jump off of) or asking a stranger what they think of something or other. Is it scary well I hope so because that is the point! We tend to forget we have other emotions and if you don’t startle them you will feel bored of life.

3. Comfort zone (goes with educated risk)
Along the same lines of educated risk we all tend to do what is safe for us? I’m not asking you to do something ridiculously stupid or completely unsafe. But try to point out your comfort zone.

For example: you are not the type to start conversations because you are shy or because you had a bad experience. Well you are not the same person you were back then so step out of that comfort zone and try it.

Maybe it’s your clothing you never wear yellow it’s to bright and may look funny. Try it any way not like it’s going to hurt you! Stepping out of your comfort zone at least 1 time a day can really increase your feeling ALIVE.

4. Where is the kid in you?
Did you lose that every asking questions of interest? Are you scared to do something out of fear someone will say you are childish? Is that someone you look up to or are they just pretending to live life? Grow down do something silly get laughed at get called a kid then say I’m a kid at heart! Parents got a head up on this one when you have a kid you have to play with your kid! There for acting like a kid is easy. So think back on what you enjoyed as a kid or even something you never had the guts to do when you were a kid and give it a shot!

5. Forgiveness
Okay this is one of the hardest things to do but it will take that tension/pressure off of you! Weather you forgive that human to their face or just to yourself either way you should do this. One of the hardest things was to forgive someone but it is the one thing that will make you feel free and alive! Plus you won’t have that added mental weight killing your mind.

6. Something new (sort of a piggy back off of comfort zone)
At least one time a week do something you have never tried before it could be a new way to work, a new taste, or even a new thought pattern. What ever it is make sure you go into it with a clear head and mind. (Easier to have a clear mind when you forgive people)

7. Give yourself time (MAKE IT)
You can’t enjoy it all if you don’t take time to breathe it in and reflex on it. You know the saying stop and smell the roses. Yes it is harder in today’s age but how ever you have to do it: schedule an appointment with yourself, Give up TV for 15 minutes for yourself, or pass up a healthy meal for a quick fix to help free up some time! What ever the sacrifice it will be worth it in the long run!!!!

8. Give up excuses
It can be hard not to give excuses to something but don’t give excuses for who you are or the actions you take. If you were wrong or you made a mistake apologize and learn from it then make it good.

Example: If you were late for work don’t wine about the traffic jam you know what stuff comes up. Learn from it by leaving early for work or just say sorry I was running late! And leave it at that!

9. Let it go!
Letting go is almost like forgiving but your letting it go almost in one ear out the other, mainly with negative stuff that we get slammed with daily. If you think someone said something to hurt your feelings or you are unsure why they said what ever who cares just let it go, it really isn’t that important! Yes it is easer said then done but very effective! So practice!!!

So that is my suggested ways to live life to the fullest or to feel alive either way you put it these 9 things will do wonders for you personally. None of these are easy but with time and practice they will get some what easier. Our emotions getting stirred up in a good way gives us the most adrenaline ever!
OMG must be wasting to much of your time !!!
enjoy your two points girly girl!

Coloring Pages for chores?

March 29th, 2009
The cuter asked:

I am looking for a website that offers coloring pages for chores. Example: you set goals for the child, i.e. chores to be accomplished and at the end of the day when they are done they get to color an apple on the tree. Once they have colored in all the apples the child receives a prize i.e. like a day at the park or getting to go to the library to pick out a book. I am looking for pages that would be used for children 4-10. Thanks!
no stickers and more interactive for the child to color and see the progression . This is not for my use but for my clients who are having behavior issues with their older children. My co-worker has a site but was not in today so i will ask monday but was wondering if anyone else knew of a site

Making money at home on the Internet is an exciting thing. The fact that you can earn money without leaving your front door is something many people dream about. Unfortunately for them it is nothing more than a dream because they never take action.

In this article we want talk about taking action by setting home business goals that will help you become more successful in your own Internet business.

1. I think the first thing a person should do is set and meaningful goals. Famous personal development trainer Jack Zufelt talks about understand your why for doing something. You need to find out what drives you to be really successful in goal setting.

This is the reason you must set goals. We are not talking about action items, but rather a couple of really big goals such as quitting your job and working at home full-time, sponsoring a missionary in Africa, or putting your kids through college.

2. Next we want to talk about immediate action item goals. Action item goals are things that you write down on a list and then scratch them off as you complete them. If you blog as a way to make money in your home business an action item might be to write a 200 word blog post four times a week.

Another action item might be to post comments in 10 other blogs related to the niche of your website or blog. Still one more might be to write and submit one quality article every week to the top 10 article directories.

When setting action item goals that you can actually achieve, you will get in the habit of successfuly completing your goals. The idea is to set a goal that is action related to attaing your end result.

3. Set three different types of goals. First you need to understand that you need to have a goal to start now or immediate, one to meet the short term and then to reach your long term goal. An immediate goal is something you want to accomplish right now or maybe this week. Mid range goal could be a monthly goal or even a goal one year from now. When trying to set long term goals they are usually one year and up to several years away.

You can meat your goals by just working on them one at a time if neccessary then you can reset them as needed. You will be surprised at how much more you successful your home businesses is when you become successful at goal setting.

Goal Setting - 3 Perspectives To A Students Approach

March 20th, 2009

Abhishek Agarwal asked:

In today’s world, there are a lot of pressures that students have to face. Some pressures come from parents while some come from peers. However, on further analysis, it is easy to conclude that the students themselves are responsible for most of their pressures. These kind of internal pressures work well for certain students, while it has a negative effect on others. A student’s behavior and approach towards goal setting can help determine how the student handles these different pressures.

One cannot generalize a student’s behavioral approach towards goal setting. This is due to the varying personalities of each student. For the same reason, children get different grades. A general view on student behavior in setting goals can be arrived at depending on the type of students being observed. However, one should never forget that no student could fall into any one type of classification. A lot of students today do not like stereotyping and hence try to avoid being classified.

1) The Achiever- Here the student’s approach towards goal setting is rather extreme. This is due to the fact that the student does not consider the option of failure and such an event should not occur in his or her existence. Very often the student sets goals that seem next to impossible to others. Most of the time these goals are achieved. At other times, the student almost achieves it, but for such a student ‘almost’ is never enough.

There are many advantages as well as disadvantages of having such an attitude. Although it pushes to student to improve performance each time, when met with failure, the student might not be able to take it. Failure can lead to problems of low self-esteem in the student.

2) The slacker- There are a few students who consider life as one big holiday. Such students have a slightly vague approach towards goal setting, making it seem as if, perhaps, they do not have any goals to set at all. However, everybody has some goal that they set. Even a slacker will have something in mind as he or she goes about his or her daily activities.

One observable fact about such students is that they set goals that are more short term than long term. This implies that the student is living life one day at a time. Certain students find this kind of approach more productive as it lets them focus on what is at hand and they look move towards and achieve immediate goals.

Usually such students do not focus their attention on academics and their goals are usually not in relation to academics. A lot of people cannot understand the kind of goals that such students set. It is, however, wrong to come to any hasty judgment about them, as many of these students have turned out to be some of the most successful people the world has seen.

3) The Average- The above two classifications were the two extremes of student approach towards goal setting. Between these two extremes is the middle ground. Today, majority of the students fall under this category called the ‘average.’

These kinds of students focus their goals more on graduation than achievement. Such students find school an establishment that must be tolerated. Their goals are aimed at passing subjects rather than acing at them. Such an approach is ambiguous, as it neither leads to success nor to failure. There are, however, many people who do not find this appealing, as there is no apparent fun in it.

Why do parents want their child to follow the same goal as they did?

March 17th, 2009
Saint asked:

Why do parents want their child to follow the same goal as they did, while not accepting and supporting their childs own goals of what they really want out of life.

Like let’s say if a child want’s to do something else like go to a community college where they can transfer and go to a major college that they want to go to. But, somwone like let’s say their mother don’t want them to go to that school and instead, wants them to go to a trade school and get a degree from there, especially when the mother had been to that type of school and done that at that type of school.

What i’n really saying is that some parents don’t want their child to do something different that really makes them happy and what they really want out of life and not supporting them for it. But, instead wants them to do something what the parent has set for them or want them to do which their child is not really interested in doing and what doesn’t makes them happy.

Why, are parents are like that?

Personal Development - 10 Tips on How to Get Started

March 16th, 2009

Sonia Harris asked:

Are you totally happy with your life? It wouldn’t surprise me if your initial response was to ask the question “Is anyone totally happy with their life?” Fair comment. So let me rephrase the question. “Is there any area of your life right now that you are not happy with?” Is that a better question?

You may be one of the fortunate ones who can say they are happy in every area of their life. However, I bet you are like most people in our society, who are probably unhappy with one or more areas of their lives. If that is the case, let me talk to you about personal development.

Before I move on it may be useful to offer a definition of personal development. I decided to do some research on the internet and Google the term personal development. I was surprised to find that there were not really that many sites that offered a definition, although there were many adverts promoting personal development. I shouldn’t be surprised because Marketdata a research firm has estimated that the personal development industry is set to grow at a rate of 11.4 yearly through to 2010, to a value of $13.9 billion.

“Personal development is the deliberate growth or development of a particular individual to bring out their potential and capabilities making them more aware of their inner feelings, belief systems to become a more conscious, whole or healthy human being”.

I know that probably seems like a mouthful but it seemed to encompass my own thoughts about what personal development is. I decided to ask my partner to offer a definition:

“Strategies that enable me to enhance my life in all areas”

Now I do like this definition because it says what it is, simply and succinctly. The thing about personal development, is that it means different things to different people. When someone embarks on the journey of personal development, it maybe that they have chosen to improve their health, relationships, career prospects, finances etc. Sometime people talk about the mind, body and spirit, or physical, emotional and spiritual.

So how do you get started on the road to personal development? Well, first of all become aware of what you already have in your life and what you are grateful for and then think about what is missing, what do you want, I mean really want. Awareness has to come first, because without an awareness there can be no conscious decision to take action. Becoming aware also means asking yourself different questions and then seeking out the answers. So if your question is “There must be more to life than this?” your mind is already making an assumption that there is more to life and as if by magic you start to see things around you that maybe you did not notice before.

Below I have put together my top 10 strategies that I use regularly to keep myself motivated. As a bonus I contacted some of my friends within the personal development field and asked them to give me their top 3 personal development books and created a top 10 list. I hope this helps you to get started.

1. Take time everyday to do something for yourself. This is so fundamental. Many people go through their day giving of themselves to other people, their job etc. and don’t have time for themselves. Even if you give yourself 15 minutes, that is time with yourself to reflect and focus on the most important person in your life, YOU.

2. Read or listen to personal development material. You must find time to learn about personal development to read or listen to positive and inspirational messages. You could use the 15 minutes put by for yourself to read a chapter of a book. If you drive, put in a tape or CD, this is making use of net (no extra time) time.

3. Decide what you really want to do and do it. Often we think about what we want to do and make excuses as to why we can’t do it. The reality is that the time we have taken to think up excuses as to why we can’t do something, we could have done it. What have you been putting off doing? Take this opportunity to do it, clear out the clutter. Once you have done it there is space in your mind to think about other things.

4. Do not be afraid of making a mistake. You will only achieve success from doing. In history many brilliant ideas have come about because of a mistake. Don’t let fear of failure stop you from doing what you want.

5. Do not put off making a decision because you are afraid it may be the wrong one. Nothing is gained by sitting on the fence. So the sooner you make a decision, even if it is the wrong one, the sooner you can make the right one. Practise being decisive.

6. Keep a journal recording your thoughts, ideas, feelings and personal growth. Keeping a journal is a great way of measuring your progress. Looking back at your journey. It is also a great source of material for any projects you hope to do in the future. If one of your dreams is to write a book, why not start with jotting down ideas in a journal.

7. Be flexible and willing to change your approach if things are not working. Sometimes when you set your mind to do something, with a set plan, things don’t always go smoothly. Remember that as long as you are clear about your destination, you can always change your route, it may take you longer, but as long as you get there in the end.

8. Visualise your goals on a daily basis. Better still put up pictures of your goals so that you can see them on waking up and going to bed. Our minds respond better to pictures than words.

9. Get yourself and elastic band and put it around your wrist. Make sure it fits loosely. Every time you find yourself thinking a negative thought pull the elastic band and let go so that it snaps back onto your wrist. Yes, it will hurt. That is the whole idea. Keep this up for the next 30 days and notice what happens.

10. Celebrate your achievements. Award yourself for any progress that you make because you deserve it.
